Ellipse Leisure Buildings Ltd. is nestled in the heart of Teesdale in County Durham, one of the most beautiful parts of the UK (in our opinion!).

We are a family run business, employing locally based expert craftsmen and women, utilising UK materials, locally sourced where possible, to build individually designed, truly bespoke residential huts.

Our sister company, Ellipse Fabrications Ltd., was awarded Best New Business and a finalist for most innovative business at the Teesdale Business Awards in 2018, and display our award with pride in our offices.

Ellipse Fabrications Ltd., specialises in commercial horticulture, retail horticulture and agricultural buildings.

Alongside our skilled staff we currently have 2 apprentices working for us through the City & Guilds Apprenticeship Scheme and fully support our staff with training and involvement within the business.

We are members of the Country Landowners Association (CLA) who can offer free of charge advice with regards to planning stipulations.
And because the Haven range is designed with the option of our handmade steel chassis, making it mobile, often it does not require planning permission prior to installation.
Which means less paperwork, less headache & more enjoyment!

All our designs are created in-house and our customer service team are on-hand to discuss every detail and need that you may have to ensure that when you take delivery of your Ellipse Haven, it meets every aspect that you dreamed of.

Where did it all start?

Ellipse Leisure Buildings Ltd. emerged from an idea that our Managing Director, Stuart Metcalf, had following on from attending an agricultural show.
While at the show, Stuart was demonstrating our registered design ‘AgriShelter®’ to the farming community and visitors. During the time at the show, he was inundated with requests on how visitors could buy the AgriShelter® and use it as a form of living space, for humans instead of livestock!

Not realising what had been stumbled upon, Stuart left the show bemused that such a number requests had been made.

A few weeks later, while working on the AgriShelter® drawings, Stuart came up with the initial model for The Balder®; a more domestic twist on the shelter produced to house horses, goats and sheep.

And so The Balder was built at our manufacturing site as a prototype to test out the materials, layouts and mobility.

From there, The Tees arrived giving greater space internally, to sleep up to 4 adults or family of 4 and provide a fully functional en-suite bathroom area and kitchenette. Ideal as a solution to the outdoor experience on a camping or glamping site, or as an extension to home grounds.
